Dovecote, now kennels and store. Early C19. Stone rubble with
ashlar dressings. Plain hipped and gabled tiled roofs. Square
plan forming a focus in the open side of a larger courtyard.
EXTERIOR: 3 symmetrical sides with simple pilasters dividing
wall face into 3 recessed panels housing boarded door and loft
openings with brick segmental-arched lintels; fourth side
covered by lean-to bay with gabled pediment with roundel in
tympanum raised in roof pitch; hipped tiled roof surmounted by
stone cupola of 4 simple pedimented faces with 3 slits in each
face.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Part of a group with Estate Yard Cottages, Keepers Cottage,
Barn and Cartshed (qv) demonstrating a complete example of
early C19 planning of an estate village.
