Trewetha Cottage

GV II

House. Early C19 remodelling of earlier property. Rendered
over rubble, clay pantiled roof between coped gables, brick
chimney stack. 2-unit front range, with larger heated room to
left.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, 2 bays. Sash windows of 12 panes, with
exposed sash boxes in plain openings, with a double unit to
ground floor bay 2. Between bays a 4-flush-panel door with
slim rectangular fanlight in segmental-arched opening, with a
timber open pediment hood on console brackets. Single casement
window in both north and south gables at ground level, outshot
to rear. Set into north gable a small piece of white marble
with a probably early C19 inscription reading "Richd Nicholls
Mason/Priest Row Wells (? his mason's mark)/Sarah Nicholls
Dealer/ in Tea Coffee Tobacco/Pepper Snuff".
