GV II

House. Mid C17 with late C18/early C19 front wing altered
c1900 and later. Timber-frame with painted plaster infill on
rubble plinth, and roughcast front with applied
timber-framing; tile roof, slate to raised front pitch, with
external end stacks. L-plan.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; symmetrical 3-window range. Entrance has
moulded timber architrave and overlight to 6-flush-panel door;
C20 hipped open porch. C20 bay windows have hipped roofs over
glazing with small-paned upper lights; first floor has windows
with moulded timber architraves to 8/8 sashes flanking 6/6
sash. Square framing with staggered half-rails which overlap
in centre. Gabled roofs.
Right return has square framing, as has rear, with plastered
lean-to projection; similar rear wing has shallow flat-roofed
projections to both sides and later C20 garage to end.
Left return has some exposed timber-framing and later C20
lean-to addition; front pitch of gable has worn moulded timber
verge.
INTERIOR: earlier part noted as having stop-chamfered beams
and plank doors.
