House. C15/C16. Timber-frame with plastered infill and some
brick to left return; renewed tile roof with brick end stack
and rear stacks. 5-unit plan.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; 5-bay range. Plastered plinth and mostly
renewed sill plate; jettied first floor on flat joist ends and
brackets. 2 entrances with battened plank doors in moulded
frames.
Windows have leaded casements of C18 or later with iron
opening casements. Ground floor has 3-light window to first
bay; 2-light transomed window to left of entrance to second
bay; 4-light window and high-set light to third bay; 2-light
transomed window to right of entrance to fourth bay; 2- plus
3-light window to fifth bay. First floor has 2-light window;
2-light transomed window; 3-light window; 3-light transomed
window and 3-light window. First floor has close-studded
framing of 3 bays with 2 narrower bays to left; arched braces
to first, third and fifth bays.
INTERIOR: not inspected, but recorded as having rear lean-to
outshut; 2 C17 wide fireplaces to rear wall, that to right
with original plastered brick shaft; chamfered beams;
first-floor partitions with cambered ties and arched braces;
some ex-situ linenfold and late C16 panelling to rear outshut.
