6 chests tombs. C17, C18 and early C19. Sandstone ashlar.
Chest A: approx. 1.25m long x 0.75m wide x 0.5m high, plain
sides, chamfered surmounting slab.
Chest B: approx. 1.25m long x 1m high x 0.5m wide, has
chamfered plinth, eroded inscription panels to sides,
surmounted by hipped slab.
Chest C: approx. 2m long x 0.5m high x 1m wide, low
rectangular chest with surmounting chamfered slab.
Chest D: 2m long x 0.5m high x 1m wide, low rectangular chest
surmounted by slab with incised border and eroded inscription.
Chest E: on plinth, to Elizabeth Wilcox d.1809, husband
Matthew and daughter Christian d.1837, plinth approx. 3m
square surmounted by chest approx. 1.5m high x 2m long x 1m
wide, 2 fielded inscription panels to each side, bulbous
balusters recessed to angles, double-chamfered slab.
Chest F: approx. 2m long x 0.5m high x 1m wide, chamfered
plinth, rectangular chest surmounted by eroded chamfered slab
with incised border.
All the listed items in the Churchyard form a group with
Church of St Michael and All Angels (qv).
