Estate farm buildings. c1850. For Compton Verney Estate.
Coursed rubble with white brick and ashlar dressings; slate
roof with 2 ventilation hoods with louvred sides. Four
2-storey ranges round central covered yard. Chamfered ashlar
plinth, brick quoins and ashlar-coped gables with kneelers.
EXTERIOR: south range: 2 storeys, 3 bays; very large
segmental-headed entrance with paired plank doors and flanking
lancets.
East range: 13 bays with 3-bay gabled centre with plank door
and flanking casements; to left 2 stable doors, then paired
doors, stable door, and half-louvred window to end; to right 2
stable doors, large carriage entrance, stable door, and
casement to end.
North range: single-storey, 5-bay lean-to cart shed with
stable and boiler house to left end.
West range: gabled centre with plank door; to right a flight
of stone steps, casement, pair of large sliding plank doors on
iron top runners to end; to left 2 half-louvred windows, C20
entrance with flanking lights, plank door, and casement to
end; loft has central entrance with plank door and lancet
above, 2 loft entrances to left.
INTERIOR: virtually unaltered with 2-storey covered crewyard,
separate pens and storage rooms; hay lofts above.
