School, now village hall. c1860. By John Gibson. For Compton
Verney estate. Dressed stone with ashlar dressings; gabled
tile roof with fishscale bands and cresting; truncated lateral
stack. 4-unit plan.
EXTERIOR: single-storey; 3-window range. Chamfered plinth,
offset buttresses and coped gables. Entrance to right of
centre in gabled porch with diagonal buttresses and pointed
arch with continuous mouldings and hood to plank door; panel
with shield above and return lights; stack to right has
moulded base to removed shaft. 3-light double-chamfered
mullioned windows.
Left return has diagonal buttresses and window of 3 stepped
lights with label mould; gabled bellcote. Right return
similar, but without bellcote. Rear has later brick wing;
probably with truncated lateral stack.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
