Terrace of 6 houses, now houses and flats and attached
railings. Early C19 with later additions and alterations
including mid-C20 attic dormers. Pinkish-brown brick with
Welsh slate roof and cast-iron railings.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys with attics and basements, 12 first-floor
windows, 2 to each house.
First floor: 6/6 sashes throughout and with sills to 2 to
right (No.15); blind boxes to Nos 7 & 9.
Second floor: 3/9 sashes throughout. All in plain reveals and
with tooled architraves.
Ground floor: left side entrances, steps to 6-panel doors with
overlights with glazing-bars; that to No.11 boarded up; all in
panelled reveals; that to left (No.5) has doorcase of engaged
fluted Egyptian columns, frieze and cornice; otherwise all
except No.13 have distyle Doric porches with engaged
pilasters, architrave, frieze and cornice.
Windows: from left, 2 canted bays (to Nos 5 & 7) each with
three 1/1 sashes and Egyptian colonnettes between. Otherwise
tripartite windows: 6/6 between 2/2 sashes in plain reveals
and with sills; blind box to No.9; inserted casements to 2
houses to right (Nos 13 & 15).
Basements: concealed to left, otherwise 3/6 sashes all in
plain reveals; 4-panel and part-glazed doors. Roof dormers to
attics. Tall end stacks to each house with cornices. 8/8
sashes to rear.
INTERIOR: noted as retaining original joinery including
panelled shutters.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: railings to sides of steps (missing to
left, No.5) have bars with spear and ornate-spear finials, and
stick balusters, those to right (No.15) have anthemion finials
to newels.
