Pair of houses and attached railings. Early C19 with later
additions and alterations. Pinkish-brown brick with concealed
roof and cast-iron balcony and railings.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys with basement, 4 first-floor windows.
First floor: plate-glass French windows with divided
overlights, in plain reveals.
Second floor: 1/1 sashes in plain reveals and with sills.
Frieze, cornice, blocking course.
Ground floor: pair of central entrances, part-glazed, 4-panel
doors with overlights and panelled reveals. Canted bay windows
have three 1/1 sashes (to left), and 2/2 between 1/1 sashes
(to right), with plain columns between, frieze and cornice.
Basement has part-glazed and panelled doors; to each a 1/1
sash with margin-lights, in plain reveals. To first floor a
continuous balcony with Carron Company
double-heart-and-anthemion motif balustrade. End stacks.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: railings and gates have decorative lancet
finials, all with two levels of rails, bars and dog-bars.
Russell Terrace was laid out c1828-36.
