Villa, now club. c1834, with later additions and alterations.
Probably by James Morgan. Pinkish-brown brick with painted
stucco facades and Welsh slate roof, with cast-iron
balustrade.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, 4 first-floor windows with attic and
basement to rear and single-storey, 2-window extension. First
floor: two 1/1 sashes otherwise blind openings, plain reveals,
sills. Ground floor: entrance beneath second window a glazed
door with overlight within distyle Tuscan porch with engaged
pilasters, frieze and cornice. 1/1 sash to left, otherwise two
blind openings, plain reveals and sills. Wide eaves, front and
end stacks. Roof dormer to rear.
Right return: 4 tall 1/1 sashes with margin lights and blind
boxes. First floor has central blind, round-arched opening
between 1/1 sashes, plain reveals and sills. Ground floor has
continuous diamond-and-circle motif balcony.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
HISTORICAL NOTE: Hamilton Terrace was laid out in 1833-1834.
Nos 10-38 (even) form a group with No.2 Newbold Street and
No.40 Holly Walk (qqv).
