Houses, now shops and flats. c1818-1836 with later additions
and alterations including mid-late C20 shop front and attics.
Pinkish-brown brick in Flemish bond with painted stucco front
facade, Welsh slate roof, ashlar copings and cast-iron
balconies.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys with attic, 5 first-floor-window range.
First floor: 16-pane French windows with 4-pane overlights.
Second floor: 8-pane casements with Gothick glazing to heads.
Ground floor: side entrances each have 6-fielded-panel door
with overlight, that to right with plain reveals, and both
with surrounds of Tuscan pilasters supporting cambered arch. 2
steps to each side: to left, one roll-edged; both roll-edged
to right, the lower curved on plan. Otherwise glazed entrance
between Tuscan pilasters. Low parapet, copings. Roof dormers.
End and roof stacks. Inscribed: 'WATERLOO HOUSE' in raised
letters between first and second floors. First floor has
continuous balcony with 3-bar-and-panel motif.
INTERIOR: to rear right a row of columns and pillars set into
rear wall: 2 Ionic columns and 3 pillars with decorative
capitals. To first floor a large ceiling rose.
HISTORICAL NOTE: Bath Street was a main street of the C18
village of Leamington.
