Terraced houses with shops. Early-mid-C19, the shop-fronts
probably of mid-C19 date. Stucco, roof of asbestos slate to
No.47, C20 tile to No.48.
3 storeys, one window each. On both houses, the shop entrance
is set back between windows, and the house entrance is to the
side; the fronts are framed by Doric pilasters carrying
fascia; house entrances have overlights and panelled doors of
original design; the shop front of No.47 altered to some
extent, that of No.48 almost completely unaltered with slim
cast-iron balusters supporting the windows. Canted bays to
first floor with sashes of c1850, that to No.48 recessed
slightly; second-floor windows flat-arched, that to No.47 with
sashes of c1850, to No.48 with sashes of original design with
margin lights; stack to party wall.
