GV II

Lodge. Probably late C18 and possibly enlarged towards the
rear in the C19. Brick laid in Flemish bond, now painted,
roofs of graded slate.
One storey over basement, the original building probably of
3-window range and symmetrical, with a bay added to the north.
The building is T-shaped in plan, the cross of the T formed by
a hipped range facing the road, with a gabled, slightly
projecting, centrepiece, the stem formed by a gabled wing to
the rear. The corners are marked by quoins in the form of
projecting brickwork. Segmental-arched entrance to left-hand
return, segmental-arched windows to front, the central window
broader; brick dentil cornice. The quoins, window- and
cornice-details are repeated at the back of the building; the
additional bay to the north has a parapet; stack to rear wing,
probably of C19 date, with oversailing courses.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
