Formerly known as: Ye Olde Cottage.
Farmhouse, now divided into 3 houses. Dated 1636 on the front
of Old Cottage, but the front is probably of C18 date. Old
Cottage is of cobbles, dressed flint and some random flint for
repairs to side elevations, brick and brick dressings, roof of
tiles.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys over basement, 3 windows, double-fronted.
Round-arched entrance with fanlight having decorative glazing
and panelled door of original design, framed by a wooden
doorcase with partly fluted engaged Doric columns carrying an
open pediment with dentil cornice. All windows
segmental-arched, those to sides on both floors tripartite
with sashes of original design; storey band; parapet; 2-span
roof with end stacks in brick.
Little Barn and Mulberry Cottage form a lower range to the
east of dressed flint with dressings of cement and brick, roof
of tiles. Single-storey with dormers in attic; late C20
flat-arched entrances, windows and dormers, brick dentil
cornice, mansard roof, end and ridge stacks.
INTERIOR: low garden wall of flint with brick coping,
interrupted for gates, with return to Old Cottage at its
western end.
