Also Known As: Town Wall, ST THOMAS STREET
Town wall. C15 with C17 additions and C19 repair. Coursed stone topped with brick and rendered. Slightly curved section of defensive wall in two sections that to north-east slightly higher. North-west front has patchy C20 render with buttress at junction of the two sections. South-east front completely rendered with various buttresses.
This is the only section of Scarborough's former town defences which still survives above ground.
