The Druid's Head Inn

House, now public house. Late C18, altered in early 1825 when
it was converted into a public house. Flint with painted brick
dressings. Stucco facing forms a plinth which has been scored
to imitate ashlaring. Roof of tile.
2 storeys and dormer over basement. 2-window range. The
entrance is placed just slightly to the left of the centre
axis. It, like all the openings in the elevation, is segmental
arched with a brick lintel and brick quoin surrounds. The
windows have, in addition, projecting sills. Brick storey band
between the ground and first floors. Brick lacing course forms
a lintel band to the first-floor windows and projects slightly
from the face of the all. a brick dentil cornice under
guttered eaves. 2 roof dormers. The right-hand party wall
expressed above the roof. Stacks to party walls. It is
reported that there is a blocked cellar passage, a feature
very common in this section of the Old Town.
