Onion house and cartshed. Mid C19, reroofed later C19. Softwood framing with weatherboard cladding and Welsh slate roof, formerly thatched. 2 storeys. 4 x 2 bays. Cartshed has square posts with struts, on stone pads. North and east sides are open, the other sides weatherboarded. Upper storey has several drying floors, all slatted. North, south and east sides have 3 tiers of ventilation flaps, hinged vertically. West side has two. South side has 2 taking-in doors, the north side one. East and west gables have similar doors in the peaks.
This is a specialised type of crop storage and processing building, unique to the area, and relates to the predominant crop in the period c1850-c1900.
