Shelter. Probably c1913. Manufactured by David King & Son, Glasgow, supplied by William Robson, Ironmonger, Southport. Cast-iron and glass with lead-clad roof.
H-plan structure under rectangular roof. Single storey. Cast-iron columns with crocket capitals, elaborate foliated brackets to roof; dado of solid panels with Art Nouveau motifs, glazed screens with iron glazing bars radiating in the overlights; swept roof. Wooden slatted benches in side and end bays. Lettered plates with maker's and supplier's names attached to side panels.
The shelters on the Promenade collectively form a group.
