PLAN: Linear range, subdivided into 4 sections not linked internally. FRONT(south) elevation; 3 of 4 original stable doors remain, the most westerly now altered and with C20 double doors. The 2 central stables have windows to the side of the doorways. REAR elevation with later carstone lean-tos. West gable with pitching hole above ventilation slit, both now blocked.
INTERIOR: double butt-purlin roof with morticed collars. Harness pegs retained in east end stable.
HISTORY: the stables form one side of a U-shaped group made up of the farmhouse and the barn. Together with the livestock sheds and the granary, the stables form an unusually complete example of a C18 arable farmstead. All are shown on a plan of the farm of 1819.
