Parterre walls of Italianate formal garden to country house. Probably 1848-50 by W Eden Nesfield the time when the house was refronted for Colonel Edward Carlyon. Rubble walls with granite copings and granite ashlar gate-piers to gateway to centre of E wall. Rectangular terrace in front of the house with parterre walls on 3 sides. There is a round fountain relating to the s wall. E wall has possibly its original chamfered and braced wooden gate with stick shafts or "balusters" closer set to lower half. The fountain has a polished turned shaft on a rectangular base and there is a lobed bowl at the top. Part of an important group of buildings relating to Tregrehan House (qv).
