C18 fronts. 2 storey. Brick upper part.
No 4 is a timber-framed building with brick front. Rectangular panels of timber-framing with painted brick infilling visible in south-west wall. Timber-framing visible also in west wall of entrance passageway to No 5. Street front to No 4 has central Palladian window on 1st floor, wood frieze with triglyph and roundel ornament, moulded wood cornice and brick parapet with stone coping. Modern plate-glass shop front on ground floor.
No 5 has a timber-framed core. The front is a modern reconstruction with large angular bay on lst floor with triglyph frieze and cornice, over a similar sized angular bay shop window on ground floor with pointed arched glazing to head of lights, and with doorway to left hand in wood surround and with panelled reveal, architrave, panelled pilasters with 'drop' enrichment, carved brackets, roundel head ornament and delicate enriched cornicc. Frieze between brackets has urn ornament. 4-panelled door. At one time in common occupation with Number 6, The Borough (see N Temple "Farnham Buildings and People", page 3).

Nos 1 to 9 (consec) (including No 1A), and Nos 1 to 6 Town Hall Buildings (The Borough, Nos 1 and 77 Castle Street, the listed buildings from Nos 108 to 122 (consec) West Street, all form a group.
