A row of 4 almshouses, now 2. A plaque on the front reads: 'Widows' Houses,
built 1856'. Single storey. In random kidney flint with rusticated details in
white brick. Roofs of fishscale tiles with an ornamental cresting and high
brick copings to the gables, with pinnacles at the apex. 2 internal chimney-
stacks, each with 2 rounded shafts in different ornate designs. 3-light
casement windows with the remains of decorative leading to the lights, set into
rectangular surrounds of chamfered brick. 2 gabled porches, with copings and
finials as on the main roof, and pointed Gothic doorways. 2 plank doors inside
each porch, with ornamental wrought-iron hinges and applied pilaster strips,
and a wooden bench beside each door.
