Shop and town house, now shop and office. Medieval origin
altered C18 and later. Rendered front on brick; grey slate
roof parallel with front.
3 storeys. Replaced shopfront of wood and glass with central
door. A tall recessed porch, south, has 11 steps to former
Row; round-arched head. Second storey sillband; 2 replaced,
horned sashes; sillband to third storey; 2 replaced 4-pane
sashes; moulded cornice beneath parapet with round-headed
central panel with blank shield and, to each side, a
balustrade with recessed end-panels; cast-iron pipe and old
rainwater head.
INTERIOR: the front part of the shop occupies an undercroft
probably of later medieval origin, with a C18 brick
barrel-vaulted section behind. The upper storeys have no
visible features of special interest.
