Public house. Dated 1922. Brick and render; red-brown clay
tile roof.
2 storeys; 2 bays, almost symmetrical, free style boarded oak
door on strap hinges with small-pane overlight in
stone-dressed opening; a recessed small-pane bow window to
each side; boarded oak double doors at corner with Union
Place, right, on strap hinges, with massive oak bracket to
each side carrying corner of first floor. Two 3-light
small-pane rectangular upper casements, the central lights
having semicircular top-rails; these casements stand proud of
the wall-face. 2 cast rainwater-heads; round cast-iron pipes.
9-pane oval attic windows in elaborately pargeted dentilled
pediment-gables.
The south side has boarded barrel-drop door, a blocked doorway
with flush stone quoins; windows. The first floor has a
3-light casement and a 4-light small-pane casement; 2 cast
rainwater heads. A datestone central on front inscribed "RWH
1922".
INTERIOR has no visible features of special interest.
