Formerly known as: Braim Farm ELMET LANE Roundhay.
Farmhouse. Probably mid C18, remodelled or rebuilt early C19.
Walls faced in small cobbles and rubble with stone quoins,
window and door surrounds, battlemented parapet.
2 storeys, 3 bays, the central entrance bay projects; lower
2-storey service wing to rear. Gothick style, with pointed
arches to entrance porch, now glazed in, and to windows with
interlaced (Y-tracery) glazing bars. Rear: arched stair window
above an inserted doorway, rear wing has a 6-panel door in
plain stone surround, side-sliding sash windows. Right return:
window to ground and 1st floors; pointed arches as front.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Formerly Braim Farm, the house was probably remodelled to
create an eye-catcher across the Great Heads Beck from the
'Castle' in Roundhay Park (qv).
