Includes: 22-38 NEW YORK STREET HARPER STREET.
Warehouse, workshops and shops. c1900, altered C20. Brick,
slate roof. 4 storeys with attics, L-plan with left return to
Harper Street, 10 first-floor windows, angled corner bay, 5
windows on return. Ground floor: original divisions remain,
late C20 shop fronts; 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors have casement
and sash windows, round-arched to 2nd floor; small attic
windows in ornate gables to roof. Rear: segmental-arched
loading doors centre, flanked by full height wood-framed
glazing on each floor.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
In 1891 the site was occupied by a warehouse, the rear glazing
suggests a rebuilding to light tailoring workshops, probably
these are the workshops of the clothing factory office at
No.32 Kirkgate (qv).
