Former board school with attached railings and gate piers with gates. 1876. By Richard Adams. For the Leeds School Board. Gothic Revival style. Red brick, stone details, slate roof. Three bays, two bays deep, on a steeply sloping site: single storey to front, two storeys to parallel-roofed rear block. Central hall plan. Central bay breaks forward, gabled, three-light transom and mullion window, cusped lancet flanked by quatrefoils above, under hoodmould, gable coping and carved kneelers. Flanking bays have entrances with mullioned overlights, cross-windows. Gable copings, large ridge stack left, stack forward of ridge centre.

Rear: the two storey block was probably added c1885 when the large block to the west was built; it has arcaded ground floor (former covered playground), buttresses, three-light mullion and transom windows.
