Railway viaduct. 1849. By Thomas Grainger, engineer. For the
Leeds and Thirsk Railway Company. Rock-faced ashlar. Chamfered
voussoirs to 21 segmental arches on large rusticated piers
with moulded impost. Moulded cornice and parapet. South end,
over Leeds and Liverpool Canal; low elliptical arch,
rusticated and with round-headed niches to abutments.
It also bridges Viaduct Road, Kirkstall Road and River Aire.
