16.3.70 Remains of town walls

GV II

Remains of town walls. 1266-69 and after 1314, much altered and repaired
since. Knapped flint with some red brick bonding, carrying raised pavement
on south side rising up from end of Keere Street to Paine's Twittern and then
along to south end of St Martin's Lane on north side of Southover Road.
Wall circa 12 feet high on north side of raised pavement, between Keere Street
and Paine's Twittern.
