Country house. Circa 1756 for William Pitt, after he inherited the estate from Sir William Pynsent; formed part of a wing on a larger earlier house, that demolished c1805; refurbished cl925. Brick, Ham stone dressings, tile roof. Two storeys and attic, 7 bay symmetrical garden front; large multi-pained windows to ground floor, 2-light casements with glazing bars to the first floor. Parapet with central pediment and cornice. Door opening to centre with 5 hood, glazed doors. Principal door opening at rear, flat-roofed porch, semi-circular headed openings, panelled door. Parapet with stone balustrading on garden front.
