Planned range of farm buildings. Barn dated 1844, but may be earlier
C19. Red brick in Flemish bond; timber frame front to cart and
implement shed. Red clay pantile roof with shaped and stepped gable
ends.
E-Shaped on plan with large 5-bay barn on east side, cart and implement
shed and stable range with granary above on the west side and a cow
house as the centre range, with low linking ranges along the south.
The barn has large central cart entrance with C20 sliding door on west
side, wide midstrey on east side with shaped gable and in north end
gable a tablet inscribed @EO 1844@. C20 farm buildings built against
east side of barn. The cental cow house range has stepped gable ends
and doorway on north end. The west range has 6-bay cart-shed facing
yard, the right hand 2 bays with plank doors and narrower loft doorway
between and with timber frame loft above with brick infilling and
louvred ventilation windows. Stables to right has granary loft doorway
in gable end.
Interior: Barn has 5-bay tenoned purlin roof with collar and tie-beam
trusses, the intermediate trusses without tie-beams; common rafters and
ridgeboard.
