Farmhouse, C16 and later, restored mid C20. Timber framed with red brick
gables and additions; steeply pitched pantiled roof. Two storeys and attics,
L-shaped plan. Main facade to south-east; three widely spaced windows set
in exposed timber frame with colourwashed infill : 4-light casements with
Transoms. Polygonal brick angle shafts at gables. Lower storey partly under-
built in brickwork. Doorway off-centre to right with rectangular fanlight
over battened door. Jettied first floor structure. First floor casements
of 5 lights (centre) and 3 lights. Tension braces to studs. Off-centre
axial chimney stack with linked lozenge-shaped shafts; one shaft to north
with decorative brickwork on moulded base. South gable with tumbling at base
and internal chimney stack with lozenge-shaped shafts. Attic casement with
glazing bars in gable. North gable has polygonal angle shafts and a large
blocked ground floor window with a 6-light mullion and transom frame set in
a chamfered reveal with stuccoed ashlaring. Brickwork of gable in English
bond with diaper pattering. Red brick rear wing with segmental headed
casements and 2-light attic dormer on south-west. Catslide lean-to's in north
west angle and flat roofed tile-hung projection. Interior has bridging and
tie beams with large chamfers and broach stops; first floor joists with
stepped run-out chamfers.
