House. Early 17th century. Timber frame, rendered and colourwashed. Partly
refaced and underbuilt in brickwork. Rear elevation partly weatherboarded.
Steeply pitched pantile roof. Two storeys and attics, lobby entrance plan.
Four window range, widely spaced: 2,3 and 4 light 20th century casements
with leaded glazing. Off-centre entrance with moulded architrave and plain
canopy on brackets. Plain tiled offset in south wall at first floor level.
Two gabled dormers with 2-light casements. Gables partly weatherboarded.
One-storey gabled wing to north with 20th century external gable stack.
Interior contains pair of service doorways into western end (one doorway
now blocked), beams with ogee and stepped chamfer stops. Fireplaces with
hollow chamfered and quadrant moulded brick four centre arches. 20th
century stair replaces original winding stair in lobby; original stair
remains from first floor to attic. Butt-purlin roof, east end possibly
rebuilt in mid 18th century.
