Country House, c.1825, of gault brick with slate roofs. Original house,
"L"-shaped plan of 2 storeys, the eastern wing containing the entrance
and the southern wing terminating with an apsidal end. Later additions
of irregular plan, to north and diagonally to north west. 3 storey tower
between the 2 northern wings. Eastern entrance lies between original
east wing of 3 windows and later northern wing of 4 windows. Porch, single
storey with moulded doorcase with consoles supporting projecting cornice.
Flat roof with moulded timber cornice. Tower has brick dentil cornice
and swept parapet. Asymmetrical south facade with double parapetted bow
windows at its eastern end. Storey height sash windows with central French
casements with fanlights in bows. Sash window with margin lights above
porch. 1½ storey sash window with semi-circular head in west facade.
Sash windows elsewhere, with stone sills, glazing bars and flat gauged
brick arches. Original build has wide bracketted eaves. Parapet eaves
elsewhere. Hipped roofs, gabled dormer above porch, with sash window
with margin lights. Gault brick stacks.
