Farmhouse. Mid- to late C17 with mid- to late C19 partial rebuilding
and addition. Timber framed on brick plinth with red brick nogging;
partially rebuilt in red brick and uncoursed grey sandstone rubble;
extended in grey sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings; plain tile
roofs. L-plan; 4 framed bays with later addition. One storey and
attic. 3 gabled full dormers with C19 two-light wooden casements;
brick and stone stack behind ridge, external brick and stone end
stack to left, and integral lateral brick stack to wing at rear.
Framing: tall rectangular panels up to girding beam with long straight
tension braces, and square panels above. 3-window front; C19 two- and
3-light segmental-headed wooden casements; segmental-headed boarded
door between first and second windows from left with C20 gabled porch.
Collar and cambered tie-beam truss with queen struts and V-struts
exposed in right-hand gable end. One storey timber framed and red
brick lean-to addition to right. Gabled full eaves dormer at rear.
Interior: collar and tie-beam trusses with queen struts; chamfered
beams and wall-plate with ogee stops; timber framed cross-walls; 2
open fireplaces with chamfered lintels, one with depressed arch.
