Town house built against town wall and gate. Possibly C14
core; visible structure C17 and later. Render on rubble
(ground floor and rear wing) otherwise timber-framed and
jettied to upper floors with slatehanging with some courses of
fishscale slates to front and render to left-hand return;
steep dry slate roof. Double-depth plan formerly with
gable-end on to street. 3 storeys including rooms partly in
roof space; 1-window range narrow frontage onto Southgate
Street; 2-window range left-hand return. C20 windows except
for mid C19 twelve-pane 2-light casement to 1st floor left of
return over doorway with C20 door; C17 segmental-arched on its
right; C20 pair of top-glazed doors under jetty of street
front. INTERIOR not inspected.
