Manor house, now farmhouse. Late C16/early C17 for John Loftus, altered C19.
Squared coursed limestone with Collyweston slate roof. L-shape plan. 2 storeys.
4-window range of irregularly spaced 2-, 3-, and 4-light stone mullion windows,
some with ovolo-moulds, others renewed C20. C20 door to left of centre under
stone lintel. Evidence of blocked door to right. Hipped roof to left and ashlar
gable parapets to right. Ashlar stacks to ridge and end. Elevation to left has
blocked, 2-light, stone mullion windows to first floor, and 2, blocked,
single-light windows. 2 lateral ashlar stacks. Gable end of rear wing has some
C19 windows and C19 lean-to to left. Interior: entrance hall has early C19
staircase with stick balustrade. Room to left of entrance has chamfered spine
beam with cavetto stops. Room to right of entrance has similar stop-chamfered
spine beams and joists and remains of open fireplace. Kitchen, to far right, has
remains of large open fireplace, now truncated.
