16/80 Hall Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Late C17, remodelled early C19. Squared coursed limestone with plain
tile roof. T-shape plan. 2 storeys with attic. Main front of 2-window range with
gabled cross wing breaking forward to left. 2 tripartite sash windows with
glazing bars to ground floor under gabled stone heads. Sash window with glazing
bars, under similar head, to first floor left; plain double sash window under
concrete lintel to first floor right. 2-light stone mullion attic window in apex
of gable. Central 6-pane, part-glazed door has panelled reveals. Ashlar gable
parapets and ashlar stack at ridge. Elevation to left of main front is a
3-window range with five 2- and 3-light stone mullion windows and one C20
casement to far left. C20 door to left of centre. Elevation to right of main
front has C19 and C20 windows. Interior: rooms to left and right of main
entrance have moulded spine beams and large C19 marble fireplaces. Inner hall
has staircase with half landing and C17 style turned balusters, probably reset
from elsewhere. Former dairy to rear has small 2-light stone mullion window with
triangular headed lights, to rear wall of main house. Some masonry may have been
reset from Church of All Saints which stood to the east of the farmhouse.
