House, formerly farmhouse. Dated 1711, altered C19. Coursed squared ironstone,
straw thatch roof, brick end and ridge stacks. 3-unit plan. 2 storeys and attic;
4-window range. C19 part-glazed door to left of centre in pegged wood surround
with wood lintel and C19 gabled porch, flanked by 3-light leaded casement
windows with stop-chamfered wood lintel to left, stone lintel to right, both
with hood moulds. Small low 2-light stone mullion window to right. 3-light
leaded ovolo-moulded stone mullion windows to first floor left and centre with
hood moulds, a similar longer 2-light window to right of centre. Central gabled
dormer window with 2-light ovolo-moulded mullion window and datestone above
inscribed DF/LS/1711. Lower 2-storey 1-bay wing projects to right with similar
2-light windows to ground and first floors. Quoins and stone-coped gables with
kneelers. Interior: ogee-stop-chamfered spine beams, some ogee-stop-chamfered
joists, open fireplace with stop-chamfered cambered bressumer. Dog-leg staircase
with turned and twisted balusters and newel posts with round and polygonal
finials.
