Farmhouse. Dated 1818. Limestone ashlar and coursed squared limestone with
ironstone dressings, slate roof, brick end and ridge stacks. 3-unit plan.
2-storey, 5-window range. 4-panel door to right of centre with panelled reveals,
ornamental overlight and pilastered stone doorcase. 16-pane sash windows either
side. Similar part-glazed door to left of centre, 12-pane sash to right,
rendered pilaster strip to left defining left end bay of coursed squared stone
with tripartite sashes to ground and first floors, 12-pane sashes to remaining
first floor windows. All windows have stone sills, flat-arched heads and
keyblocks. Coved, plastered eaves and datestone in left gable inscribed TB/1818.
Interior: open-well staircase with stick balusters and ramped mahogony handrail,
stone fireplace in kitchen and cellar. The initials TB on datestone are said to
be those of Thomas Barford. Right end room has fitted shelving and was a shop.
