Row of 3 cottages. Early C18. Coursed squared ironstone, artificial stone slate
and asbestos tile roofs, brick stacks. Clemdor to right: 2 storeys, one bay,
originally entered from rear, has C20 doorway in place of former window in right
bay with wood lintel and C20 half-glazed door. 3-light window to left has wood
lintel and wood casement. 3-light window on first floor with wood lintel and old
iron casement. Windrush Cottage in centre: One bay, one storey and attic has C20
two-light casement widows with wood lintels on each floor and C20 dormer.
Interior: Both cottages have set of chamfered beams and open fireplaces with
bread-oven. Subsidiary joists said to have been renewed after a fire at Windrush
Cottage c.1967. Ivy Cottage to left said to have been former hovel, remodelled
as dwelling C20. One storey and attic 2 bays, has C20 windows, 2 with original
continuous wood lintel on ground floor.
