GV II
House. Mid C18, 2 builds, nearly contemporary; (extension dated 1752 on
kneeler) with some alterations in C19. Front ashlar, right return good
quality tooled stone, rear squared stone; Welsh slate roof with one stack
rebuilt in brick. Main part 2 storeys, 1 + 3 bays, the left 1752 extension;
older part has plinth. Left end 4 steps up (flanked by low walls with pyramid-
capped end piers) to old half-glazed door; 12-pane sash windows. All openings
have lintels tooled to represent voussoirs. Extension has C19 bay window with
battered plinth, sill band, tripartite sash and moulded cornice; 12-pane sash
above. Coped end gables on moulded kneelers; stepped ridge stack with
chamfered cap; similar but rendered end stacks. Lower bay to left has 12-pane
sashes; coped gable on moulded kneelers; rebuilt end stack.
Right return: gable end of main part shows boarded attic window with external
bars. Rear elevation shows gabled stair wing with 12-pane sash window;
flanking sections of outshut have boarded doors, the right in chamfered
surround. Far right projecting gabled wing with renewed windows in early C19
chamfered surrounds and lower 2-storey bay at far left.
