14/75 Embleton Cottage

GV II

Cottage, c.1840. Squared whinstone with raised sandstone quoins and dressings;
Welsh slate roof. Single storey, 3 bays, symmetrical. Central vertical-
panelled door, under 4-centred arch, flanked by small pointed lights, all
under common hoodmould. End bays have paired 8-pane sashes under moulded
cornices. All openings in surrounds with extended lintels, sills and mid-blocks.
Chamfered eaves cornice. Gable ends with pitched coping on moulded kneelers.
Stepped-and-corniced stacks at ends and on ridge right of centre.
