Row of 4 mill workers' cottages, formerly 5, Nos. 3 & 4 forming a
single cottage. Late C18. Dressed coursed rubble. Nos. 1, 2
and 3/4 have flush ashlar quoins and hipped pantile roof with 2
gable and single ridge rendered stacks. Two and a half storeys,
9 bays. Having from right to left a single glazing bar sash, a
single larger glazing bar sash, a doorway with panelled part
glazed door, 2 glazing bar sashes, a doorway with panelled part
glazed door, 2 glazing bar sashes, the right one in a former
doorway and a single glazing bar sash. Above are 6 glazing bar
sashes with 6 small glazing bar sashes on the top floor. All
ground and first floor openings have flush splayed lintels. All
sashes have wooden frames and vary slightly in size. To the left
is No.5, with pantile roof and single left gable rendered stack.
2 storeys, 2 bays. Doorway with wooden door and 2 pane
overlight. To the left is a single glazing bar sash. Both
openings have flush splayed lintels. Above is a single similar
sash. To the rear are single storey dressed coursed rubble and
slate extensions.
