A terrace of 4 cottages. Mid C17 and c.1800. Brick with pantile roof and
3 brick stacks. 2 storeys. Irregular fenestration, having 6 windows to the
1st floor and 10 windows to the ground floor. The doorways are 1, 3 and 4
windows in from the east respectively and 1 window in from the west, all with
plain surrounds under segmental arches. Apart from 2 small casement windows,
2 windows in from the west, the ground floor has glazing bar Yorkshire sashes
under segmental arches. There are 3 similar windows under segmental arches
to the east on the 1st floor. All the remaining 1st floor windows are
casements with glazing bars. To the east is a lean-to. To the rear, north
of No.4 is an earlier mid C17 wing in coursed rubble with a steep double pitched
pantile roof, being hipped where it meets the terrace, with a single brick ridge
stack. 1½ storeys. Irregular fenestration. To the south is a doorway
with plain surround under a segmental arch, to its north is a C20 casement
under a segmental arch and a C19 coursed rubble, ashlar, brick and pantile
gabled projecting, single storey porch with double arched entrance. North of
the porch is a C20 casement under a segmental arch. The 1st floor has 3 case-
ments. The gabled north wall has coursed rubble to the ground floor and brick
to the 1st floor with ashlar quoins and ashlar plinth. The ground floor has
a blocked and damaged stone mullion window with stone lintel and sill, to its
east is a blocked opening, possibly a further mullion window. The garret has
a glazing bar Yorkshire sash under a segmental arch and to its east a small
casement. To the east is a brick lean-to.
