Small country house, now 2 houses. 1871-3 by William Wilkinson. Coursed squared
limestone with ashlar dressings; plain-tile roofs with rubble and ashlar stacks.
Complex plan. Gothic-revival style. 2 storeys. Irregular front has a large
central gabled projection containing an arched doorway with wave mouldings, a
tall double-transomed stair window and 2 smaller windows, all with trefoil
heads; gabled right bay has plainer transomed windows, and left bay has a tall
stack rising above a plaque containing initials and the date 1871. Left end has
a large 6-light canted bay window and the wing returning to rear has further
transomed windows and gables plus a circular stone stack in medieval style. A
further wing (now Brashfield Lodge) returns to right, parallel with the front
wing but extending beyond it; it has stone-mullioned windows and gables.
Interior: Brashfield House has contemporary oak stairs, and panelling.
