House. Late C17/early C18. Limestone rubble with squared quoins; old plain-tile
roof and brick stacks. L-plan. One storey plus attics. 3-window front has
projecting wing to left with irregular fenestration of casements with timber and
stone lintels. Main range has adjoining doors; that to right with a wide
moulded-plank door and heavy frame. C20 tiled canopy over both. To right a C18
leaded 2-light casement, formerly with a square stone mullion. 2 small 2-light
dormers, one with C18 leaded casements. Half-hipped roof with central stack,
Small C18 casements in ends. Rear has lattice light casements and hipped dormer.
Interior: Heavy cross beams; massive central stack with adjoining stair;
butt-purlin roof; plank doors. Reputed to have been used as a malthouse before
becoming 3 cottages. Possibly originally a farmhouse.
