House. C17 and late C17; remodelled and extended in early and mid C19. Squared
and coursed limestone; hipped concrete tile roof to right and similar gabled
roof to left; brick lateral and ridge stacks. Extended to double-depth plan.
Front of two ranges. 3-storey, 3-window range to right has stone bracketed flat
hood over C20 door, flanked by mid C19 plate-glass sashes and 6-pane and
tripartite sashes above, all in plain stone architraves; mid C19 canted bay with
plate-glass sashes and parapet to right. 2-storey, 3-window range to left has
similar bay window and 8-pane sashes in plain stone architraves flanking French
window above. Moulded cornice to parapet. C19 additions to sides and rear.
Interior: central hall has very fine C17 dog-leg with winder staircase with
turned balusters, finials and pendentives, and late C17 boxed beam and moulded
cornice. Chamfered and boxed beams on upper floors. To rear of ground floor are
C18 cupboards above entry to stone steps down to cellar.
