Kiddington Hall

GV II

Garden terraces. Circa 1850, by Charles Barry. Squared and coursed limestone and
limestone ashlar. Upper and lower terraces forming L-plan to the south and west
fronts of Kiddington Hall (q.v.) and closed off to the north by a higher
balustraded terrace in front of the orangery (q.v.). Formal Italianate layout.
Upper and lower terraces with stone copings and cable-fluted stone urns.
Orangery terrace with flanking flights of stone steps and central projection;
string course, and balustrading with square dies and urn finials. The terraces
form part of Barry's extensive works at Kiddington c.1850.
