II
Farmhouse, latterly inn, now farmhouse. Early C19 with later additions and
alterations. Red brick; asbestos slate roof with coped verges on carved stone
kneelers and integral end stacks. L-plan with lower range at right-angles to
rear on right and 2-storey lean-to abutting. 2 storeys with dentilled eaves
cornice. 3-window front, 16-paned glazing bar sashes with gauged heads.
Central entrance; plain pilastered doorcase with panelled reveals and 6-panel
door (middle panels now glazed and bottom panels boarded over). Formerly known
as The Red Lion Public House. Top Street is shown as High Street on O.S. map.
